Strategies
WRG offers a proven plan of planting churches cross-culturally: the Steffen Five-Stage Strategy. Created by WRG board member Tom Steffen, the strategy was developed in the field and repeatedly tested to prove its replicability in any environment. It begins at the end with the exit plan. Church planters then use a method called “backwards mapping” to design a specific strategy for each of the five stages--pre-entry, pre-evangelism, evangelism, post-evangelism and phase-out--all to ensure that the exit plan is met.
The Steffen Five-Stage Strategy is a comprehensive and holistic approach to church planting whose validity and effectiveness are undeniable. The articles below describe the strategy in more detail.
